Just Because...It's the Season

I'm so Proud of myself! I've got Christmas all Finished besides one gift the whole week before Christmas! I have everything wrapped, and packed into a box so we can take it down to family for the holiday. It feels so good and now I get to just sit back and relax and enjoy the week before Christmas!
I love this time of year and the happiness it brings to people! I think that it's because it's the time when we truly think of others more than ourselves. I was driving home the other night and witnessed a family dropping gifts off on a doorstep and doorbell ditching them. I'm so overwhelmed by the love people show towards others this season. And you think of the economic struggles that people have had to deal with this year and yet they are still willing to GIVE. It simply amazes me how thoughtful people are. It makes me think of the book Christmas Jars by Jason F. Wright.

It's about a family who saves their spare change and takes it to someone or a family on Christmas Eve. I just read the book this past November and loved it. I highly recommend it to those of you who have not read it.

I've Also been loving seeing the snow fall everyday for the past 4 days! Even though it hasn't been a down pour, there have at least been flurries and It just helps bring the Christmas spirit into my heart. I watch the neighborhood kids go out and play in the snow and neighbors shovel each others walks. It reminds me of my childhood sledding and having hot chocolate when I come inside and put my feet up by the fire. This is a picture of the first and only snowman Patrick and I have ever built! The next morning it looked like this...

I guess it was too tall for it's own good...and in the wrong place. We must have forgotten that snowmen melt in the SUN! Nonetheless we had lots of fun the night before building it together!
As for this time of year...this friday coming up is special because......our friends Matt and Kenzie are moving up to Logan and will be living in our neighborhood. In fact everyday I look out our front door/windows and I can see their backyard! I'm so excited for them to be here! I'm just hoping and praying that their move goes well with the weather the way it's been lately!

Anyway... After this whole long blog that i've written I wish you all a

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

and a Happy New Year!

Scripture Study and I've learned to say NO!

This is what we have found Porter does when we Read Scriptures! We wonder if he is trying to get our attetion or if it's a curiosity thing, what ever it is... It's the cutest thing ever and makes us laugh so hard!

The whole No No thing we had just taught him that night! And Believe me...he has caught on! In fact he hit is Grandma Munson on the face and right after he shook his head NO! What a little character! After that little incident we have been working on the Nod YES!

Turkey Week!

Our family went to Salt Lake and Utah County for Thanksgiving week. The first two days we stayed at the Little America Hotel in SLC because Patrick had a training for his new internship going on at the hotel both monday and tuesday. It was great and Porter did pretty well sleeping there! Our room wasn't too bad, it was really clean and really nice amenities. We were kinda bummed because it's a 4 star hotel and then got there and our room wasn't much different from any other hotel room we've ever been in. We went swimming and Patrick decided after he went into their locker rooms that Little America REALLY is a 4 star hotel. From his mouth these words came out " I'm Really IMPRESSED!" So patrick was impressed by the pool and locker rooms, and I was impressed by the lobby and front entrance! They had all the christmas lights up and fancy music...plus the bell-hop and the valet parking which made me feel like I was in a romantic movie for some reason!

After an eventful Tuesday with my friend Marianne I have decided that I will never drive downtown Salt Lake ever again! Especially with construction going on and all the NO LEFT TURNS! I really don't like that place.

Turkey Day came and it was pretty laid back but lots of fun! We had our big feast with Patrick's side of the family and then came home and worked on a little craft project which I'm so proud of! I love it! Then Friday we went down to be with my mom. That night Most of my family got together and it was SO GREAT to see them all! I hadn't seen them in about 3 months! It's hard for me to not see them very often but I can't complain LOGAN has been GOOD to us!
So that was our eventful week! Wish I had pictures to show you of all that we did, but we are still waiting to get a new camera!
Anyway we are grateful to all those who put up with us this week! It was so great to see everyone!

This is just a picture of the project I did on Thanksgiving Day! We had lots of fun doing it!
