Check out my blog background!!

This is what I look like 20 weeks preggo! And this is what I see daily...

And this is what's inside of that tummy...

This is the Baby's Foot!

This is the Baby's profile, and you can see the spine and the heart.

Well today was the day we found out that we are having a BABY GIRL!!! If you couldn't tell by my blog background...I now get to use girly stuff with the color pink involved. In the past I could only use pink if it was like Valentines Day, but now I'm having a girl and the number of boys vs. girls is equal in our household!

She was a shy and very modest little girl today. It took us forever to get a positive...Yes it's a Girl! She had her legs crossed Indian style. Her face was even covered with her hands! BUT she did wave to us and we got to see her yawn/take a drink (not sure what she was really doing, but it was the cutest thing I've seen in a while)!!

Patrick and I are so happy! The lady who did our U/S said that we are the parents who many other parents hate, because we are lucky and will have both a boy and a girl! I'm super excited to get going on the new room for her and I said to Patrick that we are in trouble, because it is so hard to pass the baby section in the store and not buy all the ADORABLE girl stuff! It was hard enough when I just had Porter( yeah I know he's a boy!) That's how hard it is to pass up the girl stuff!
I also told patrick that now he needs to buy me a sewing machine, because i've been wanting to learn to sew the past year, but never had anything to sew, but now... i'll get to do lots of stuff for a girl!
Anyway, we feel super blessed and are really excited to have a little girl in our home in just a few short months( b/c we all know time flies) We think Porter will just eat her up when she gets here and be super sweet and loving to her!

Frog Prince

Funny story! Last night I went over to my neighbors to watch a movie and I came back home and both Patrick and Porter were asleep in bed. So I got ready for bed in our extra bathroom and did my nighttime routine. As I was coming out of the bathroom and stepped into the hall way I found something that the first time I found it about 6 months ago I screamed bloody murder! But this time I knew Patrick was the only one to save me and he was sleeping and it wasn't a life or death situation..so.. I just screamed with my mouth closed and hoped nobody heard!
Yes it was a FROG!!!
I don't know why I'm so afraid of them, I just am! So I walked behind it watching it's every hop until I knew I could get around it and trap it so Patrick could get it out of the house for me in the morning. This is what I did. I put a 8 x 8 glass dish over it and then realized it was glass so if Patrick didn't know to look for it, he would hit it and the frog would get let free in the morning. So I put the chair over that with a note that says " Look Out FROG!" Then on the glass dish I put a note that says "GET OUT OF HOUSE! THANX!"

Well, turns out when I came into bed, Patrick was awake and heard my closed mouth scream, so he knew I was not anywhere near calm enough to go to sleep. According to him he could feel my vibes and it was keeping him up! So he asked me what would help me and I said the only thing that is gonna help me is to know for SURE that there aren't a dozen frogs hopping around in my house, and to get that frog out!
My sweet husband got out of bed and Checked every little corner and under sheets and towels and clothes that were on the floor. I swear if he looked for his lost keys and wallet like he looked for those frogs last night, I would never be bothered again with him asking me where those things were! He was SO AMAZING! I know not many men would really really put the effort into checking the house like he did last night! Anyways... It helped! I was asleep within 10 minutes after he got back in bed.
My only question is...WHY DO I ALWAYS HAVE TO BE THE ONE WHO FINDS THE FROG HOPPING IN OUR HOUSE, BY MY FEET???
so not fair!
THANKS SWEETIE!
p.s.--I took this picture AFTER Patrick got the frog out of the house!
I realized I prolly over reacted! But when you get those panic feelings
you can't necessarily control everything!

Taste the Rainbow

Sunday evening we had a nice rain storm pass through Logan. As I was getting ready to unload the dishwasher I looked out the window and saw the color of the sky and said "Oh there has to be a rainbow out" Sure enough I looked and it was acutally a double rainbow that you could see from one side to the other! I thought it was so GORGEOUS! So I had to take a picture

This is our little Leprechaun at the the end of the rainbow! He definitely holds quite a bit of treasure!

Then just for those of you that care, Sunday was the 2nd year anniversary of my Dad's passing. The year my Dad died from the 10 days he was in the hospital there were a lot of thunderstorms. And I remember my last conversation with him I told him how much I miss Virginia thunderstorms and I talked to him about the lesson he taught me of prayer when I was just a little girl, because I was afraid of the thunderstorm. Anyways , long story short, last August between the day my dad entered the hospital and the day he died I saw yet again rainbows after the storms which took place. And yet again, this second year I saw a double rainbow the year marking day when he had his stroke and then the year marking day of his death! I just think that is super neat and it helps me remember my dad and that last conversation I had with him! I guess you could say that to me Rainbows, especially double rainbows are Special!

Family Reunion 2009

Our Family Reunion this year was FANTABULOUS! It started Wednesday and went on through Sunday. So long, but wonderful!
Wednesday: A special thing happened. It wasn't really apart of our reunion but it definately was a great way to start things off. My oldest brother, Corbin, was sealed to his wife Jesslyn in the Draper Temple! It was so neat and wonderful to see them be sealed together and how happy they are. CONGRATS to you two! After the temple, we all went back to their house for an Open House. The food was delicious, even though while I was waiting in line it all got rained on! It was really funny too, because my brothers neighbors two doors down was having a reception in their backyard so we got many Wedding Crashers! We would just yell to them leave your presents here and the food is over at the other house! haha.
The best part about Wednesday was the wonderful news that was spread. Corbin got up and gave a nice toast thanking everyone who came and supported them. He went on to say how nice it is to be with family on such a special day and even though we were all missing Dad and London...Our family continues to grow!! YAY!!! Everyone thought How exciting, Corbin and Jess are Pregnant!!! So they all Cheered and hollered, and then quieted down as they heard Corbin Shout " SKYE'S PREGNANT!!" Everyone was kinda confused but still excited for the great news! It was fun to trick everyone! Thanks to Corbin and Jess for announcing our news on their big day and making everyone get on them for not really being prego. It was a good thing I told everyone too, because apparently everyone had their thoughts, such as my brother told me he thought I was pregnant, but would never say anything to a girl, just in case. Two of my sisters were talking to each other and saying " Has Skye, gained weight?" SO it was nice to clear things up! Just FYI we find out what we are having in just 8 days! Stay tuned for the news! Oh and we are Due January 18th 2010
Thursday: The reunion really started and we had a talent show, Porter performed a few songs that he does actions to and told people what a dog, cow, tarzan and indians say! It was lots of fun!
Friday: We went to the Lehi Legacy Pool and swam. Porter was sorta tired so he had fun, but wasn't super outgoing!

Daddy and Porter-Sorry, the camera was loosing battery and so I had to hurry and take the picture. Patrick is cut off because I was in too big a hurry and just snapped the picture.

He went down the slide and LOVED it! Just like at his Uncle Corbins!

Porter with his cousins, Brooks who is almost 6 months old, then you see Porter, and Pheobe who is almost 9 months. They had lots of fun together this weekend!!

Porter during craft time for the kids! He got to color a Firetruck and the high-chair tray!He did a really good job tho!

Also, while we were there we knew porter would be Climbing up the stairs constantly. But we also knew that he doesn't know how to come down. So we were in trouble and would have to watch him very closely. Well about 1 day into the reunion, he learned how to come down the stairs!! YAY!! One more thing on the checklist of things for Porter to learn! Done!

This room is where Porter spent most of his time in. The front room with the Piano and the air mattress. He loved to climb and JUMP on the air mattress for hours and while doing so getting off and then going and playing the piano. Then come back and jump. I almost always knew where he was.

Saturday: We didn't do much. I ended up having Patrick take me into the Insta-Care, because I had a REALLY bad sore throat. I couldn't even swallow my own spit with out my throat just BURNING and killin me. I thought I might have a sinus infection, so I wanted meds to fix it. turns out that It's just allergies and I can't do much to fix it. Being pregnant and all that kinda took a few options away. But the Dr. did give me some stuff to gargle to numb my throat and it has really helped! But while we did that Everyone else went to Kangaroo Zoo and then came home and we had a big Birthday Party for my nephew Cooper. Then after that everyone went to see Harry Potter, except us and Brandon and Holley. We needed to stay so our boys could take naps. We had fun and did our own thing. Brandon and Patrick took the boys to Cabellas after their naps and had lots of fun! Porter got Brooks Laughing pretty good from what I hear! I wish I could have been there.
So Through all of that the weekend was WONDERFUL and we had so much fun being with family even though some of our plans didn't work out due to bad weather.

Opps! Oh Well....

What a day Porter and I had about a week ago! I guess it was just one of those days. Porter had gotten into Patrick's night stand and pulled out a book and a CD and then tried to put the CD in the DVD and VHS players. So I told him No and then he decided to go get into the Computer. I figured he needs attention, maybe a little help with finding something to entertain him. So I brought him over to all his toys and got him playing with his toys. After a while I thought ok he's fine... so I started to do a word fill-in puzzle and got going on it and I was doing AWESOME! Then I smelled baby powder very strongly and I HATE the smell of Baby Powder! I Despise that smell! So I get up come to find Porter in his room with powder EVERYWHERE! I about freaked and then realized...if only I would have been paying better attention to my son, this wouldn't have happened. So I got the camera and snapped a few shots of the damage.
The next thing was to clean it up. I seriously wondered Where on earth do I start?! I picked things up and then took the rug outside and shook those things out. Then I vacuumed the rest up, which I am still doing to this day because you can't just get it all in one hit. Once you start the Vacuum, the powder blows up in the air and then settles back down. I think I'll be working on getting it all out for quite a while! Plus dusting his bedroom about every other day!

Oh and his room REAKS and it's starting to stink the rest of my house up! This really BITES! So what's next...? Porter isn't even two yet so what do I have to look forward to when the Terrible Twos hit? Then... oh No don't even remind me of the TERRIBLE THREES!!!
