4th of July Festivities ( Lots of pics)

Happy 4th Everyone! This year our 4th of July was spent a little differently than our past ones. We ended up staying home and doing our own thing. Patrick's sister Lacy and her husband JD came up for the weekend to join us and party it up in Logan, UT! We had a blast and this is what went on this weekend...
JD & Lace brought their Wii so we could play...

Then we left to go enjoy our outing for the fireworks. We ended up feeling like complete REDNECKS tailgating in the parking lot across the street from the stadium where they do the fireworks, but it was totally worth it! We found 2 spots and parked the truck in one and set up our chairs and things in the other. While we waited we ate and socialized and played Skip-Bo and listened to the HORRIBLE performances going on in the stadium. (If you watch the video you can hear the girl singing and the clarinets playing .UGH... terrible) And we blew bubbles and threw snaps on the ground to entertain Porter! (Watch video) Poter loved the fireworks! He clapped and even would say whoa and ooo and ahh at times! We enjoyed Logans firework show and think we might do it again another year!
Then the next day since we celebrated the 4th on the 3rd...we went to the Car show they do on the 4th. Instead of a Parade Logan has a Car show the people can enter their cars in and drive down main! It's a pretty big thing up here and we enjoyed it A LOT! Here are some of the cool cars we saw. This is Porter waiting for the cars...I have to admit the car show isn't really for kids, you know... like a parade, unless they love love cars and know whats going on.

Lotus...SWEET CAR!
Dalorian(sp) they dressed up like back to the future

This was so cool...the whole time they drove on 3 wheels!

I just thought this one was cool... as well as the ones below
After the Car show later that night we did our own firworks...which ended up being pretty crummy. I bought a package of fireworks and they all were in different size boxes and different shapes, but I can say they were all the exact same thing! Glitter, sparkle and pop! WHAT A RIP! That's the last time I buy the fireworks! We still enjoyed ourselves and made the best out of it!
This is what we enjoyed for 45 minutes...now you can enjoy them for 1 second!

This is a video I put together of our 4th of July. It's mostly of us trying to entertain Porter before the fireworks with some Snaps and bubbles, then I added at the end his first time with sparklers later that night! As you watch this movie you'll notice how much he knows and understands things!

Mother in Awe..

Sorry, No pictures, but this is more of a journal entry. First I have to give a shout out to Michael Jacksons death, he was a weird dude, but sure had some great music!
Amidst all of the whinning and annoying grunts and cries from Porter...I am so in love with this little boy! He is such a JOY in my life! I can't help but smile when I'm around him. He is 15 months old now and is learning so many things! I'm amazed at the millions of little things he is picking up on now. When he was younger it was always so exciting to see him do the big things like; crawl, walk, hold a toy, etc... Now, everyday I'm looking for something small that he learned. So far these are things he has picked up on within the past couple weeks.
  • He learned how to get down from the couch safely!
  • Learned how to climb up onto the couch
  • His excitement when he knows it's time to go somewhere is so cute! He runs and gets his shoes and lets you put them on him, then he goes BOLTING for the door with a HUGE smile on his face!
  • He understands the concept of Fetch and catching the ball.
  • His ABSOLUTE LOVE for Veggie Tales is adorable! He knows when it's coming on and turning off.
  • He can say "Ball"
  • He understands when you say certain words like; " Go get it", "Let's go night night"(he runs back to his room for bed) "If you ask him for a kiss and he's willing, he'll give you one!
  • He knows how to tell us he wants more food: He blows like your blowing on food to cool it down. That's how we know he's ready for another bite! SO CUTE!
  • And one of my favorites; Anyone who knows me knows that I stick my tongue out when I'm concentrating...well he has learned that when he sees me sticking my tongue out he sticks his out and that tells me he wants me to spit my tongue like bluh bluh blah!
He is such a cute boy and growing up so quickly! I love the stage he is in and would love for him to stay in it forever, but then I also would like to communicate with my son and see all the other new things he can learn!

Bowling

Kelsey has been hanging out at our house for the past week! So we decided to go bowling while she was visiting. Porter was a little cautious when we first sat down to put our shoes on, because of all the lights and loud music and loud bowling balls dropping on the hard floors and knocking down pins. About 5 minutes after being there he relaxed and enjoyed himself the rest of the time we were there! He even got down on the floor and danced to the music! My last frame I let Porter help me bowl! We knocked down 7 pins! Porter did such a good job! Then the second go around we knocked down 2! Don't worry...We WON! We ended up with a score of 100 the first game and then 113 the second!

Gifts from Hawaii

Aunt Lacy and Uncle JD brought Porter this outfit from Hawaii! It's so cute on him and don't you think he likes it too?! It was so nice of them to think of us while they were on their honeymoon in Hawaii!

The Wedding Bells are Ringing!!

LOOK OUT BIG BIG POST WITH LOTS OF WRITING AND PICTURES!!!Wow what a weekend and WONDERFUL Wedding! Patrick's sister Lacy just got married this last saturday. We started the day off early with some interesting thing happening to us. We left Porter with Kelsey and went off to the temple. We heard great stories of Lacy's drive to the temple of them having to pull over to let her get out and puke on the side of the road. (word of advice: don't take vitamins without eating much food as that is what Lacy did). The sealing was absolutely wonderful and you could feel the spirit so strongly there. It was great because the sealer had to offer JD some tissues and then went to see if Lacy wanted some and she shook him off saying "No thanks" JD was the happiest man alive that day!
After the ceremony Patrick and I came outside the Temple to look for Porter so we could get him dressed in his suit for pictures, but to our surprise they were not there. After 45 minutes of worrying and trying to contact them on their phones they showed up! So we quickly got Porter dressed and things were great from then on.Then...it was time for the reception! WOW what a Miracle! As we were finishing setting up for the reception we saw DARK storm clouds coming our way and the wind was blowing like crazy! We were all so worried and scared that we were going to get rained and POURED on! Each individual said their own prayer and then before all the pictures were taken we as a family got together and said a family prayer for the rain to not come our way. Well it never did and the weather brightened up and it was the perfect night for a reception! Turns out that it rained HARD just down the street from the house! It was truely a Miracle! Everything was so beautiful and we had such a great time! YAY & CONGRATS to JD & LACY!

Porter getting a drink at the reception!

Standing in the Line!

The GORGEOUS tastiest Cake!!!

The night before the Wedding Lacy and I were helping with the decorations and our job was to "strip" the black fabric into thirds. As we were doing so, Lacy started saying how we are such good stripers! We both started laughing and then I got the Idea to make a slinky dress out of the fabric! Then we got into the fact that the bow was tied in the perfect spot for a "Chastity Bow"

Then we discoverd it had "Peek-a-boos" and it then turned into being called "Peek-a-boobs" and we thought we might should get tassles! HAHA We were naughty that night, but we had fun! I love those moments that I have with my sisters! They are the BEST!
Oh...and this is the back side of the dress!

BRIDAL PICTURES I GET TO SHARE NOW!!
So I finally get to share the pictures from Lacy's Bridals! Now y'all have to realize I was taking these pictures while my one arm was FULL of stuff to hold, so the pictures really aren't the greatest, but you can get the gist of what her dress looked like! The bottom right picture proves that I had my hands full! We all did!
