Fun In The Sun

We've known since day one that Porter would be a kid that loves to be outside in the sun, but I honestly think we underestimated his love for the outdoors. The past week the weather has been so nice and it's been great to take Porter out to play! After the first day of taking him outside the next day and the next and so on...Porter has learned to bring me his shoes as a way of telling me "Let's go outside and play MOM!" He is so cute! We don't have many toys for him to play with outside, so we brought the lawn mower that we got him for his birthday outside and his ball and some bubbles. That keeps him busy for about oh 4 minutes! Then he is off exploring, such as finding rocks and trying to eat them! YUM! I bet that tastes so good!We have also been working on our basketball skills! He knows that when the ball is out he grabs it and starts darting toward the street to go to our basketball hoop! It sure makes us basketball parents smile!Anyways...we got so excited about the nice weather that we asked our neighbors if we could try out their bike trailer and see if porter likes it enough for us to make an investment in one. Well turns out we went on a ride for 4 nights in a row while the weather was amazing! Porter about fell asleep on the way to the park one night he was so comfy and had such a great relaxing time in the trailer. I wish I could relax and lay in a trailer while someone pulled me around! Wouldn't that be sooo Nice!?! It would be like my chariot! So we got to the park and there were lots of kids there so we put him in the swing first and he wasn't too into it so we pulled him out and got him walking around. His favorite was the see-saw and then we let him walk around and he seemed to be a people watcher. I'm sure he'll grow out of that soon once he realizes what the park is all about!

Family Fun!

Last week we had family visit us. It was great to have Jenae and Aaron and their 6 kids come visit us! I know I know...most of you who have seen my house are thinking where did they sleep? How did you fit that many people in your house? Well... The kids LOVE couches, floors and sleeping bags! It's one big sleepover and we had a BLAST! When they came Cardon watched the younger kids while Nae, Aaron, Mirae, Patrick and I went to the temple and did Baptisms. Which was awesome because we haven't been able to do that in a long time! Then we came back and the Merrills have history in this part of the state, so they went to a cemetary and of course visited Gossners Cheese Factory and got squeaky cheese! Then when porter woke from his nap we met them up at the temple and they told stories to their kids about Meriner Wood Merrill who was the first temple president of the Logan temple and one of the 12 apostles at the same time. He is a relative I'm not sure how closely related...i'm thinkin like Aarons Great Great Grandfather(?) Anyways the stories were really neat and the spirit was felt so strongly while we were there. It was great to see how their family spent their little trip and focused on family history and gospel principles.
Porter Looking out on the Town from the Temple! He sure knows how to pick the beautiful things!
Then we went and had some FUN!! We went to a restaurant called the BlueBird and it was started as a candy place by a Cardon. Which was neat because that's where Cardon's name came from. It was a funny story because Cardon was saying how hungry he is and a kids meal wouldn't work for him then the plates came out and he saw the burgers and frys on those plates and said nevermind! We laughed so hard! Those burgers were so big...Lauren and Elle decided to try and flaten them so they could fit in their mouths!Porter sure enjoyed having them come! He got to be with his cousin Josh who is just 1 year older than him. He followed josh around and Josh got mad at him when he would play with a toy that he wanted! It was lots of fun! Porter grew and learned a lot with all the kids here!
All in all we had a GREAT time with them and loved having visitors! We don't get many, so it was a treasure to have them come!

Finally! We know what Time it is

We actually made this clock over christmas break. We had been procrastinating on getting the clock hands and then finally dove into buying them. It cost more for the shipping than the actual hands did, which is why we took forever to finally buy them. Anyways...We are so happy that we have come to the end of the final product! Doesn't it look great!?!

Easter

Look out BIG BLOG UPDATE...lots of Posts and Pictures!

We didn't do much for Easter this year. We figured Porter wouldn't know what we were doing. Our neighbors had a little Egg hunt in their backyard and invited us over to let Porter hunt for some eggs. It took him a minute but then understood to find the eggs. Then once he found them he learned they rattled so one was good enough for him. I had to coax him into finding more. Then when we were done we worked on our T-Ball swing!
