Christmas in October

We had Christmas in October! We were planning on getting this adjustable basketball hoop for PJ for Christmas this year, but when some friends of ours knocked on our door with this big box of fun and joy...we couldn't just hide it and save it for Christmas! We had to get it out and set it up for PJ to play with.

This is Patrick setting it up, like we would have been doing Christmas Eve!

This is PJ waiting PATIENTLY for it to be set up to play with!

YAY!!! Time to PLAY! It's the perfectest thing for him and he will play with it for hours on end! We couldn't be more grateful to our friends who were thinking of us!

Store Hicks

Last weekend we were going to take the family out to Boo at the Zoo. We got there and decided that it was a little too pricey for us especially for Porters stage in life. He wouldn't have really been able to enjoy the experience and remember it. So instead we took him to the store and let him play with the toys in the aisles! Why buy them when you can play with them in the store? haha We were there for a full half hour just hanging out in the toy aisles.

This is one of his favorite toys in Nursery, well besides the...
ELMO

He loves ELMO! We played with the Elmo in the store for about 15 minutes. But of course he was too afraid to touch the Elmo, but would sit on the floor and watch elmo as if he was a movie!

Pretend Phone

I've been meaning to put this on the blog recently and have finally done so.
Anyway, this is one of Porter's favorite things to do is pretend talk on the phone! He will sit there and say "Ooh" and talk in his own language, and I think one day I even heard him laughing! It was too cute! It makes me wonder how I am on the phone, because I know that I'm the only one he gets these things from. ENJOY!

Grown up Toddler, Not a Baby Anymore

I've been trying to be a better parent and not let the TV babysit my kid. So one day I decided Porter, lets color! We colored and then I thought what could we do tomorrow? hmm.... that's a wonder, I'm not creative enough. Then while I was on my walk I decided OH we could make play dough! My mom has a peanut butter play dough recipe and I thought PERFECT! Then if he eats it it won't kill him! Well after much thought I decided that by making the play dough it won't harm him much and I'd rather he taste the nasty stuff and learn NOT to eat it than to think YUM and eat it, because many of you know that Porter will eat anything that tastes yummy that is in front of him!
So I made this the other day and thank goodness, because he would NOT take a nap, so I pulled the play dough out. Of course he took a few bites, but learned soon that it's not food. He LOVED it so much he sat there and played for 1 whole hour! It was wonderful! I think I like play dough as much as he does now!
